The YMCA of Sequim invites the community to a job fair from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 19, to meet YMCA staff and learn more about the employment opportunities it has to offer.
In particular, part-time and full-time lifeguards are needed so the YMCA can expand its pool hours and swim programs.
“It’s been challenging to hire more lifeguards during the pandemic, a problem faced by many other YMCAs and aquatic facilities nation-wide” YMCA of Sequim branch executive Gail Sumpter said.
The YMCA of Sequim is also holding a Lifeguard Certification Course April 11-24 for anyone who needs to learn the skills necessary to become hired as a lifeguard. Individuals who complete this course are hired as a lifeguard and after staying employed with the YMCA for 90 days receive a $300 bonus.
The Y also looks to hire an aquatics program lead, an aquatics coordinator, swim lesson instructor, a Wellness Center coach, personal trainers and Playcare staff.
