Humans yes, machines no

I wish to address all of the people of Sequim, and every other small town for that matter. Before it’s too late, we need to ban together and “boycott the robot.”

I wish to address all of the people of Sequim, and every other small town for that matter. Before it’s too late, we need to ban together and “boycott the robot.”

You know what I’m talking about — the automated “cashiers” that have sprung up around town. Where you would once be greeted by a smiling employee, you are now pressing a bunch of buttons and listening to a repeated chorus of, “Have you scanned your club card? Have you scanned your club card? Hey stupid, have you scanned your damn club card?!!!”

Don’t you see that jobs, for humans, are being eliminated by these monsters? Yes, I’m aware that the orders “come down from corporate” and the store managers are forced to follow along. But we, the little people, don’t have to. Stand up against “corporate” and take back our jobs!

Go stand in the line where the human is working. Politely refuse to be herded over to the annoying automaton. Be patient because the line may get long if we’re all in it. Talk to the person behind you about how great Sequim is and how sweet the people are here.

Be nice to the cashier because he or she is a regular person just like you, struggling along to make ends meet. There’s power in numbers, people. Stand up and stand in the line where the human is working.
