Escalation of anger
My concern is the growing escalation of anger toward our president and our nation, domestically and internationally. I am from Norwegian descent and have a cousin (twice removed, according to Ancestry.com) who is a member of the Norwegian Parliament. He just wrote a message urging Norway to increase its defense capability as a result of growing tensions in Europe and North America.
This is very understandable as he represents a far northern portion of Norway which is close to the Russian border.
I see this escalation of concern in Europe and also in the US. I feel it deeply as do family and friends. I have noticed that every 84 years since our founding revolution we have been involved in war: American revolution, Civil War, WWII, and now a possibility of another due to the lunacy of our president.
I would not like to see our citizens who also feel as I do rise up in arms or other desperate means to end his leadership, and can see no other means to depose him than by invoking the 25th amendment. I hope Congress is also concerned enough.

Math and civics
Welcome back to school, boys and girls!
Did you have fun over Christmas vacation?
For our first lesson, let’s review our math skills.
There are 5,528,500 registered, light-duty, gas-powered vehicles in Washington.
Assume each vehicle is driven 11,650 miles annually and gets 23 miles per gallon.
Question: How many gallons of gas do people buy for their vehicles each year?
“Correct, Timmy, the answer is 2.8 billion gallons.”
And here is a follow-up question:
Since the AAA website on Jan. 23 shows Washington State gas prices are $1 per gallon higher than in neighboring Idaho, how much taxpayer money are Washington democrats wasting on the climate change hoax with excessive excise and “climate commitment” taxes?
“Correct, Sally, the answer is $2.8 billion per year.”
Now, let’s move on to a civics question.
Which political party should citizens vote for this November?

A new low
It seems that each day we are treated with a new low from this administration. For the past few days it has been the storm troopers terrorizing Minneapolis, killing two people. Those agents involved should remember that there is no statute of limitations for murder. Hopefully, when and if we regain our sanity and decency, we will revisit this Nazi-like time of terror.
Today’s new low is Trump’s idiotic statements concerning our NATO allies. He should be the last one to talk about bravery on the front lines of battle.
During my 25 years of military service I had the extreme honor to serve with our allies. They have been on the front lines with us on several critical occasions. They are the best partners and we should be proud to call them allies.
But now we have someone who has, in the past, called those of us who served “losers.” I have never been so ashamed of our country and how low we have gone in decency, honor and common sense. We are now ruled by fear, intimidation and division. We have never been so far from “making America great again.” This is not the country I took an oath to serve and protect.
