Let’s get this straight

When building a house, we start with a foundation and frame it solidly.

When forming policies affecting a huge portion of our population, required are reality-based underlying facts measured by scrutiny and accuracy, thus insulated from bigotry, illusion, and ill-conceived, self-centered beliefs and motives.

Most Washingtonians want to halt sales of assault weapons with large capacity magazines which will reduce mass shootings. This urgent message hammers against a mindset where AR-15s are worshipped icons. Not wishing civilian society to be militarized, we don’t benefit from a suspicious gun culture to dominate, turning welcoming happy abodes into fortified fearful barracks. Thanks to the Legislature and Gov. Inslee for passing gun reform laws!

Nailing a framework for our extraordinary, knotty region — human and natural — necessitates the wealthy actually paying their share of taxes.

The vast majority of women, girls, people support abortion “choice,” realizing liberty is the roof over our bodies for self-determination, a necessary protective shelter against a fanaticism bent on destroying our humanity like a swarm of termites with its insistent gnawing fervor.

Level-headed, we all know that love between people is their decision; and though some mortals don’t comprehend LGBTQ+ existence, affection is not simply designed in blueprints of right angles, straight lines, or female to male fixtures.

In life toolboxes, we assemble an array of knowledge regarding the complexity of human undertakings and struggles, which permit us to “put our gloves on” to keep our community’s foundation constructive.
