Vote out OMC board

Consider what happened when our hospital CEO, COO and CFO resigned for personal reasons at the end of August. The OMC board spent thousands for a search firm, not to replace the CEO but to hire an interim.

The interim hire, Gregson, is costing OMC $12,500 a week plus travel and expenses equaling over $600,000 annual pay. The former CEO at OMC earned $283,000.

If Gregson is an expert at fixing OMC problems why does he need an expensive contractor? Without board approval he hired Chartis, a health care advisory firm, for $249,000. This plus his salary equals $1 million. What exactly will Chartis do and what will Gregson do?

Will the permanent CE0 get the same deal? A huge salary, allowed to hire consultants without board approval and not be required to live here?

The new board will be choosing a new CEO and negotiating with the UW Medical Center for our financial future.

I urge you to vote for Gerald Stephanz (hospital district 1) and Laurie Force (hospital district 2) for the OMC board in our November election. Why would you vote for the incumbents with their track record?
