Handmade Craft Fair set

The Sequim Center for Spiritual Living sponsors a Handmade Craft Fair from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Pioneer Memorial Park, 387 E. Washington St., Sequim. Twenty local crafters will have handmade items available for sale. There also will be a bake table and food.

 

Festival winds up 2012 season

The Olympic Music Festival winds up its 29th season of “Concerts in the Barn”  at 2 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 1-2,  at 7360 Center Road, Quilcene. Concert pianists and fellow Julliard School graduates Julio Elizalde and Michael Brown present Brahms’ "Variation on a Theme by Hayden," Stravinsky’s "Petrouchka," Bernstein’s "Suite from West Side Story" and Ravel’s "La Valse." Rendezvous offers family friendly history

The Green River Mountain Men invite families to follow the signs and join in a blast from the past at the annual Rendezvous from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 1-2,  at the Peninsula Longrifles location on Slab Camp Road off Lost Mountain Road. The Rendezvous represents an early 1800s fur trappers’ gathering with historically accurate campsites, traders and period-dressed reenactors. Activities include black-powder shoots, primitive archery, seminars on fur trade lore, music, storytelling and a dutch-oven cooking contest. Join ‘Fashion’s Night Out’

Fashion’s Night Out comes to Port Angeles on Thursday, Sept. 6, beginning with a free fashion show at 5:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 131 E. First St. After the show, six stores stay open until 9 p.m.: Sassy Kat Salon and Boutique, Cottage Queen, Iron Apparel, Necessities and Temptations, Black Diamond Bridal and Jewell’s Boutique.

 

 

Book discussion stars ‘Seabiscuit’

The best-selling true story of 1938’s single biggest newsmaker, "Seabiscuit" by Lauren Hillenbrand, is the book for discussion at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.

Copies of the book are available in multiple formats at the Sequim Library. Pre-registration for this program is not required and drop-ins are always welcome.
