Free wire wrap art demo at Blue Whole Gallery
The community is invited to a free art demonstration, “The Art of Wire Wrap,” from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St.
Jeweler Kathy Schreiner will explain the basics of how to wire wrap cabochons (gems polished but not faceted), sea glass and other treasures to create one-of-a-kind jewelry. She will also cover the “ins and outs” and “the what to do and don’t do” of wire wrapping.
She will also have a list of tools and equipment and various types of wire available for those in attendance.
Schreiner is a member of the Clallam County Gem & Mineral Association. Her experience includes classes on cutting and polishing cabochons, wire wrapping, metalsmithing and years as a successful jeweler and instructor.
Blue Whole Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Saturday, and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sundays. For more information, visit bluewholegallery.com.
