PAFAC hosts outdoor sculpture dedication

The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center will host a public dedication of an outdoor sculpture newly donated to the Webster’s Woods permanent collection at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, on the front steps of the park entrance. Josephine W. Pedersen of Port Angeles donated the sculpture created by artist James T. Hubbell.

Pedersen originally commissioned the sculpture titled “Spirit” in memory of her late husband Melvin Pedersen after his death in 1997 and it was sited on the grounds at their home. The City of Port Angeles coordinated the transfer of the large bronze and stone sculpture from the Pedersen residence to its new permanent location in Webster’s Woods earlier this year. See more artwork by Hubbell at jameshubbellart.com.

The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center and Webster’s Woods are at 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.

Photographs are on exhibit in P.A.

Karon’s Frame Center, 625 E. Front St., Port Angeles, sponsors an exhibit by photographer and visual artist Jesse Francis and a reception from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14.

Francis is a member of Sequim Arts and has shown his work at the Juan de Fuca Festival, the Sequim Soroptimist Garden Show and the Sequim Farmers Market.
