Square dance lessons, ice cream on tap

The Rhody O’s Square Dance Club offers beginning square dance lessons starting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Gardiner Community Center, 980 Old Gardiner Road. All are invited to a free ice cream social and an introductory dance lesson.

Lessons are held each Tuesday evening through the autumn and winter, with graduation in late spring. There is no experience necessary. The program is designed for those who have never square danced in their lives (or maybe years ago), but wished they had. The Rhody O’s are an informal group who dance in shorts and jeans and sometimes their gardening clothes.
