Shipley Center sets holiday concert

The Shipley Center hosts a Christmas Concert from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at 921 E. Hammond St. Entertainment includes the Olympic Peninsula Ukelele Strummers, Grand Olympics Chorus, Na Hula ‘o Wahine ‘Ilikea Dancers led by Mahina, and the Washington Old Time Fiddlers. Santa and Mrs. Claus make a visit during intermission. Tickets are $5 for members, $8 for non-members. Call 360-683-6806 for more information.

Music, healing on tap

Singer/songwriter Sophia Engkvist and Qigong teacher/Reiki healer Ben DeFrancisco host two events on Sunday, Dec. 17, at Blue Mountain Yoga+ 803 Carlsborg Road, suite D. From noon-1:15 p.m., is a session of Qigong, a practice of breath, meditation and movement, accompanied by music from crystal bowls. From 2-3:15 p.m. is deep relaxation with singing and Reiki healing.

Get writing

A spontaneous writing session is set for 9:30-11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18 at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave. The free event is designed for writers who want to get their “creative juices” flowing. All writers are welcome, regardless of experience. Bring paper and pen (no electronic devices). Prompts are provided. Participants write for 10 minutes, then read what they write. Similar sessions are held the third Monday of the month. Grange hosts dinner, dancing

The Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, hosts a Christmas Dinner Dance from 5:30-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, with music provided by the Buck Ellard Band. There will be a drawing throughout the evening with several items to give away. Cost is $10 per person.
