NOLS to host exclusive Jazzy Ash, Leaping Lizards show

The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) invites families and children of all ages to view an exclusive performance of “Fly Through My Window,” a new virtual concert with Jazzy Ash and the Leaping Lizards.

The special performance will be held virtually on NOLS’ social media and YouTube pages, and be available Feb. 1-7.

“Fly Through My Window” features African American folk songs such as “She’ll be Coming Round the Mountain,” “Miss Mary Mack” and “Hambone” (featuring juba master Uncle Devin) in an interactive and educational setting.

Introducing a brief history behind these songs as well as the corresponding call-and-response and challenging clapping movements, Jazzy Ash invites families to sing along and celebrate the music of New Orleans as part of the American folk music heritage. NOLS also has Jazzy Ash and the Leaping Lizards CDs available for checkout.
