Tess Teel & Co. at fifth ‘Music Where You Park’

Tess Teel & Co.’s swing, jazz and bossanova music is in the spotlight at KSQM 91.5 FM’s next “Music Where You Park” series, set for at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at Carrie Blake Community Park, 202 N. Blake Ave.

The series sees attendees in their parked cars at selected locations by 6 p.m., when KSQM 91.5 FM will begin a broadcast. The format may vary with each group, organizers say, but will include band member interviews interspersed with music that either inspired the featured musical group or some of their own original tracks.

Free raffle tickets are handed out at 6:15 p.m.

City has new art blog

The City Arts Advisory Commission invites community members to visit the commission’s new art blog.

A link to the blog is on the City of Sequim website at www.sequimwa.gov/956/CAAC-Arts-Blog.

The CAAC Arts Blog was created to provide art sharing and support during COVID-19. On the site are interviews with local artists sharing their insights, practices and craft. The site now features seven local artists: Susan Gansert Shaw, Dan Brewer, Jeannine Chappell, Terri Biondolino, Lynn Armstrong, Evan Miller and Jinx Bryant.

The interview series is an open nomination forum for any practicing artists of any medium in the Olympic Peninsula region. Residents can nominate someone or nominate themself. In addition, the blog features a page dedicated to supporting local art organizations and another for artists to share how the community can help. The site has a contact page where readers can provide input on their needs, ideas or any future programming.
