Here are the Arts and Entertainment briefs for the upcoming week.

Scott set to perform Sunday

Jim Scott performs at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3, at Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 73 Howe Road. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. For more details, call 417-2665 or see www.olympicuuf.org. Cost is by donation. Proceeds donated to Manna of Port Angeles.

Scott creates and performs music celebrating peace, justice and the earth. Pete Seeger once called him “some kind of a magician.” Scott knew Seeger for years and includes Pete’s songs and personal remembrances in his performance. Scott co-wrote the celebrated “Missa Gaia/Earth Mass” album and many other pieces with Paul Winter and the Paul Winter Consort. He has recorded many albums of original music.

Northwest Women’s Chorale hosts auditions

The NorthWest Women’s Chorale resumes rehearsals on Monday, Aug. 18, for their annual winter concert. They hold auditions for all parts, first and second soprano, first and second alto.

YMCA drama production set

The Port Angeles YMCA Drama camp presents “Nights of the Rad Table” at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8; and 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Port Angeles High School auditorium on Park Avenue. It is a contemporary and comedic spoof of the famous legend of Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Admission is free.

Sea star workshop slated

Cabled Fiber Studio and Feiro Marine Life Center have a new partnership to raise money for education and citizen science programs at Feiro through creation of fiber sea stars, crabs, jellies, octopuses, etc. Fiber artisans may stop by Cabled Fiber Studio for patterns and donated yarn to make the creatures. This effort kicks off with a hands-on workshop on making wet felted sea stars from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at Cabled Fiber, 106 N. Laurel St., Port Angeles.

Cost is $25 per person and includes materials. Pre-registration is required by contacting Cabled Fiber Studio at 360-504-2233.
