Round Trip comes to Sequim grange hall

No rocking chair for dad this year — just rock ‘n’ roll, country and oldies. The veteran musicians from Round trip bring their music to the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, from 5:30-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 17 (Father’s Day).

Cost is $10, which includes a meal in the historic Sequim building with a dance floor and plenty of room for guests.

Story swap set

Rick Huddle is the featured teller at the free Story Swap slated for 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, in the Carver room of the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St. Huddle is a storyteller, educator, and musician. He has toured all over the United States, Mexico, Thailand and Colombia. He is a Moth Story Slam winner and has performed at the National Storytelling Festival.

After a short refreshment break, there is an open mic session for anyone to step up and share a short tale.

The Story People of Clallam County hosts story swaps on the third Tuesday of the month, along with other public events: the annual Liars’ Contest in June, the Forest Storytelling Festival in Port Angeles in October and Story Slams at Sequim’s Olympic Theatre Arts.

Land trust, PAFAC to debut artistic sign

Join the North Olympic Land Trust and Port Angeles Fine Arts Center for the unveiling of the artistic sign created by local artist Nathan Shields at a community reception from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the land trust building at 602 E. Front St. Port Angeles.

Executive directors of the partnering organizations will talk about the importance of incorporating art into urban spaces.

During the event, other nature inspired works of art will be on display, including linocut prints Shields created for a book project called “In Alaska.”

Light snacks will be provided and wine by the glass will be available for purchase.
