Summer Reading program offers Shadow Theater and OTA auditions set.

Pardner up with ‘Pecos Bill’

The 2015 Summer Reading Program at the North Olympic Library System continues on Tuesday, June 30, with two special performances of the Oregon Shadow Theatre’s “Pecos Bill, A Tall Tale,” about American folk legend Pecos Bill.

The first performance is at 10:30 a.m. at the Sequim High School auditorium, 601 N. Sequim Ave., followed by a 3 p.m. performance at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

Auditions set for OTA

Auditions for the first Main Stage show of OTA’s new season, two one-act plays, “The Real Inspector Hound” and “Fifteen Minute Hamlet” by Tom Stoppard, will be from will be from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, June 27, and 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 3, at OTA, 414 N. Sequim Ave.

Director Miles Carignan seeks five males ages 20-60-plus and three females ages 20-50 and actors will be asked to play multiple roles.

Library features superhero movies in July

The Sequim Library will offer a Superhero Summer Movie Series at 2 p.m. Fridays throughout July, as part of the 2015 Summer Reading Program. The series will provide out-of-the-sun family entertainment, popcorn and fun movie trivia at an affordable price — free! The movies are “Bolt” on July 3; “The Incredibles” on July 10; “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” on July 17; “The Lego Movie” on July 24; and “Big Hero 6” on July 31.

Summer art studio at SARC

The Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center will have open art time with instruction in multi-mediums including pastels, oil painting, acrylic painting, pen/ink wash, scratchboards pencil drawing and wire wrapping/jewelry.All supplies are included at a cost of $20 per month for passholders, $30 for non-passholders or $8 to drop in. Classes are every Thursday from 1:15-3:15 p.m. for teens and adults.
