Movement Storytimes set at NOLS branches

As part of the Summer Reading Program, the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) invites children and their caregivers to join Movement Storytimes in the Park.

The program will also be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., and 2 p.m. at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 Peabody St., on Thursday, July 22. This outdoor storytime will also be held every Friday during July at 10:30 a.m. at Tillicum Park in Forks .

Register at nols.org or at a local NOLS branch; registration for all Movement Storytimes is required.

Movement Storytimes feature songs, rhymes, and stories for movers and shakers. Children age 5 and younger are taught to strengthen their bodies and brains with creative movements, and explore their imaginations while balancing, creating rhythm and becoming active participants. These programs will work on both large and fine motor skills, spatial awareness and help improve balance and coordination, program organizers say.
