Pacific Mist hosts Nyland book signing
Pacific Mist Books, 122 W. Washington St., hosts local author Linda Nyland from noon-3 p.m. Saturday, June 7, to sign copies of her book “Under the Hook: How One Woman Took on Longshoremen’s Union and Made a Better Environment for Everyone.”
Nyland’s book tells a true story of Washington State history that few people know about as she encountered discrimination and harassment. Her hard-won battle cleared the way for fair treatment for all. For more information, call 360-385-5994.
Sequim City Band performance
Sequim City Band presents “Let’s Dance,” a free community concert, on Sunday, June 8, at 3 p.m. at the James Center for the Performing Arts at the Water Reuse Demonstration Site just north of Carrie Blake Park.
The concert, directed by Tyler Benedict, will bring together big band swing, sultry Latin rhythms, and elegant waltzes.
A free pre-concert dance session will begin at 2 p.m. led by internationally recognized dancer Werner Figar, who will be joined by Bria Rocha from Sequim Ballroom.

Sequim Elks dance
Andy Koch’s Badd Dog Blues Society will play at the Sequim Elks bi-monthly dance on Sunday, June 8, from 6-8:30 p.m.
The band will play classic and original blues featuring Andy Koch (vocals, guitars and harmonica), Ken Lykes (keys and vocals), Bob Bernstein (bass and vocals), and Yorck Franken (drums).
Admission is $10 for Elks with ID, $12 for guests.
