Gospel group sets concert for Sunday
The Peninsula Men’s Gospel Singers are ringing in spring with a free concert at The Ark, 577 W. Sequim Bay Road, on Sunday, March 27, beginning at 3 p.m.
There is no admission, but donations are accepted and CDs will be available for purchase. Anyone who would like to attend is invited, organizers say.
PMGS got its start over 20 years ago as some men from Independent Bible Church in Port Angeles sang around a piano one evening. Since then, the group has gained representation from a number of North Olympic Peninsula churches and has become a peninsula staple, singing in churches, school gymnasiums, retirement homes, memory care facilities, prisons and even a Seattle Mariners home game.
Wood turners to host shop on Zoom
Brian Johnson of Port Townsend hosts an open shop on turning pens on Friday, March 25, at the next meeting of the Strait Turners, a local chapter of the American Association of Woodturners. During these open shop events, members volunteer to host a small group of turners in their shop, to discuss and learn about specific skills or tools.
The meeting will be on Zoom, though the club will soon transition back to in-person meetings at the Gardiner Community Center just east of Sequim, members said.
