Here are three upcoming events in and near Sequim area

Come to library for laughs

The Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., presents a free screening of “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein” with free popcorn at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in the library meeting room. The movie is appropriate for families.

P.T. artist featured at college

Port Townsend artist Lynn Rideout presents an artist’s lecture in the Peninsula College Little Theater, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles, at 12:35 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23.

Her presentation is part of the college’s Studium Generale series and is free to the public. An artist’s reception, sponsored by the Peninsula College Foundation, immediately follows in the PUB Gallery of Art, adjacent to the Little Theater.

Rideout is the featured artist in the PUB Gallery of Art. Her exhibition, entitled “Voices in the Fire,” features a collection of 25 mixed-media pieces.

Join SHS for dinner, dance

Sequim High School’s Jazz Dinner Dance is 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the school’s cafeteria, 601 N. Sequim Ave. Cost is $15 per person or $25 per couple.

The Stardust Big Band joins the Sequim High School Jazz Band to benefit SHS band program. The event includes a dinner along with music and dancing. Tickets are available at the SHS office or at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m. and music starts at 6:30 p.m.
