The Sept. 6 First Friday color theme is blue. Find works of art and folks supporting the option to dress in shades of blue or representations of skyward aspirations as they enjoy an evening on the town with friends and family.

Throughout the Sequim Centennial year each decade is celebrated and September is the 1990s. During the Art Walk we encourage folks to stroll down memory lane in styles that include grunge, glamour shots and harken back to an era when greed was good. Art shows for the month of September and Sequim First Friday, from 5-8 p.m. Sept. 6 (unless otherwise noted):

• Olympic Theatre Arts is exhibiting photography by Jan Kepley at 414 N. Sequim Ave. After moving to the Olympic Peninsula in 1980, he started spending more time learning about macro imagery using his own backyard as a learning ground to develop his skills. Reception 5-8 p.m.

• Nancy Hofmann’s artwork on display at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., as part of the ongoing “Art in the Library Series” through November with a First Friday reception from 6-8 p.m. with light refreshments and live music by the duo RowanTree.

• Karin Anderson and David Willis are featured artists for September at the Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St. Anderson is a mixed media artist known for her eclectic style and her longstanding promotion of young artists. Willis’ work in oil of various subjects ranges from fun to serious. • At the Sunshine Café, 145 W. Washington St., fine art, graphics and cartoons of Tim Quinn, a gifted late local artist, who left a legacy of artwork throughout the North Olympic Peninsula. Guest artists also display work. Sample Chef’s Choice snacks.

• Sally Cays and Patricia Taynton’s traditional artwork and more at Gallery on the Walls, 128 E. Washington St. The gallery is open 9 a.m-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and by appointment on weekends by calling 683-5387. Meet the artists from 5-8 p.m.

• Todd Fischer’s watercolor surf art at The Rainshadow Roasting Company, 157 W. Cedar St. Sample coffee brewed from beans roasted on premise and be entertained by local singing artist Sarah Shea for First Friday from 5-8 p.m.

• Guest artists Tracie Gulit displays handcrafted stylish creations for the wall, Marilyn Brock shows fused glass sun catchers and magnets. Jean Wyatt, resident artist, has placemats, greeting cards, bookmarks, calendars, wall hangings and floor cloths all at Pacific Mist Books, 121 W. Washington St. Open for First Friday 5-8 p.m. Guest author Teresa Schoeffel Lingvall, author of the newly released “Olympic Hot Springs,” will be available for signatures at 7 p.m. The newest delicious creations by We Do Fine Fudge will be available along with refreshments provided by Cameron’s Custom Catering.

• Members of The LARC Art Gallery, 166 E. Bell St., are all featured for September and First Friday. They will be celebrating their anticipated future move to new a location at 425 E. Washington St. on Sept. 15.

• Local artists work on display plus wine tasting and late evening entertainment to 9 p.m. at Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St.

• Members of The LARC Art Gallery have artwork displayed at Sequim Fresh Seafood and Smokehouse, 540 W. Washington St.

• “Faces & Masks” by featured artist Pamela Hastings and “Small Art with Big Dreams,” artist trading cards show, which is an exhibit open to all artists in all media sponsored by Sequim Humanities and Arts Alliance at The Museum & Arts Center, 175 W. Cedar St., through Sept 28. macsequim.org.

• Skip Kratzer’s “Amazing Car Art and More” at The Good Book, 108 W. Washington St.

• Robert Haspel has a display of stunning floral photography at Crumb Grabbers Bakery, 492 W. Cedar St.

• Scott Erickson’s striking photographic scenes of the Southwest, Alaska and North Olympic Peninsula, plus other locations in the U.S., are displayed at Strait Financial Advice, 193 W. Cedar St.

• Local artists Peggy Wesley, Scott Erickson, Randolph Foster, Sky Heatherton and Jeff Becker are featured in an art exhibit at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., Port Angeles, as part of the ongoing “Art in the Library Series” through Oct. 9. Information at www.nols.org.

• Colors of Sequim Fine Art Materials hosts the Sequim Arts “5×7 Art Show” at the 139 W. Washington St. This Sequim Arts fundraiser consists of only unframed 5 inches by 7 inches artwork created and donated by local artists and celebrities.

• Howly Slim and Sandy Summers will perform at Phil Tauran Photography Studio & Gallery at 155-B W. Cedar St.

• Doodlebugs, at 138 W. Washington St., offers a free “Make and Take” between 5-7 p.m.

• R&T Crystals and Beads will have jewelry demonstrations from Paulette Hill and Gail McLain and D’Ann Gonzales will demonstrate how to make a beautiful gem tree at 158 E. Bell St.

• That Takes the Cake inspires sweetness with cakes that are art at 171 W. Washington St.
