Art association member show set for Oct. 12-15

The Olympic Peninsula Art Association hosts its annual Member’s Show and Silent Auction Fundraiser 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Oct. 12-14, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Parish Hall, 525 N. Fifth Ave.

An artist reception is set for 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11.

The show is open to the public and admission is free.

Many of the art pieces will be for sale, with a portion of the sales going to help fund various projects.

Along with the art show, OPAA puts on its annual silent auction fundraiser. Among the many items up for bid will be round-trip tickets to Victoria, rounds of golf at local courses, meals at local restaurants such as Chestnut Cottage, Alderwood Bistro, Old Mill Café and Oak Table Café, trips to the Royal B.C. Museum and Greater Victoria Art Museum, and to Olympic Game Farm.

Other donors include Rocket Transport, Clear Image Custom Framing, Les Schwab and B&B Family Lavender Farm.

Each year the association provides programs and demonstrations, offers financial assistance to local area schools for art programs, and puts on a members exhibit. They also award scholarships each year to graduating seniors who are interested in pursuing art as a career.
