More than drumming

A drum series will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 13-Oct. 25, at the Center of Infinite Reflection, 144 Tripp Road, Sequim.

This drum series is about beginnings: Not knowing anything about the drum or how to enter into drum rhythms, or letting go of concepts about what we know and paying attention to how we feel, breathe and sense ourselves in rhythm.

Drums are available if requested at registration.

Janda is featured

Carol Janda is the featured artist at the Waterfront Art Gallery for September. Janda is well-known for her watercolors and her pottery, she also creates monotypes and fused glass. She is proficient in a number of mediums and teaches art classes in Port Angeles and Sequim.

She has lived in Yellowstone and Glacier Bay national parks, which inspired her love of landscape and floral painting. She loves the challenges of watercolor, pottery and monotypes and does not limit herself to one style. She enjoys doing abstracts as much as painting a still life.

A reception in her honor, with live music and refreshments, will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at the gallery, 120 W. First St., Port Angeles, during the second Friday artwalk.
