Art Port Townsend features Sequim artists

Art Port Townsend returns for a 14th year with multiple events this month.

 

The Northwind Arts Alliance and the Port Townsend Arts Commission first present their juried art show “Expressions Northwest” with 67 pieces of art at the Northwind Arts Center, 2409 Jefferson St., Port Townsend, from noon–5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3-Sunday, Aug. 26. It’s closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

 

The show includes Sequim artists Joan Balzarini’s acrylic “The Red Boat,” Marian Morris’ watercolor “Indian Island with Crane,” and Pat Oden’s hand-dyed quilt “David.”

 

Show juror Rock Hushka gives a free lecture at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the show.

 

Writers are invited to respond to individual works in the show or as a whole and share their writings at 7 p.m. Aug. 23.

Thirty-seven artists open their work spaces for a studio tour from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Aug. 25-26, in Port Townsend area.

 

Artists include work in oils, watercolors, acrylics, pastels, printmaking, sculpture, foundry pours, ceramics, woodworking, fabric arts, glass and more.
