Using light in art

To photographers and artists, light is everything and can make photographs or paintings exceptional. A new Peninsula College community class, “Qualities of Light,” can help you learn how to use light effectively in your work. The instructor, Randall Tomaras, promises that you will never look at light in quite the same way as he shows how to recognize and control the qualities of light and how they aid in the perception of shape, form, tone, depth, shadows, highlights and ratio.

The two-class course is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, and Thursday, Feb. 24, at Dungeness Design, 520

N. Sequim Ave., Sequim, and costs $49. To register, call 452-9277 ext. 6340 and ask for item number S-530.
