Adventures abound in library novel selection

“Euphoria” by Lily King will be discussed at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave. Set between the First and Second World Wars, the story is loosely based on events in the life of anthropologist Margaret Mead.

Copies of “Euphoria” are available at the Sequim Library in various formats including in regular print, downloadable e-book and audio e-book; they can be requested online by visiting the library catalog at www.nols.org. All are welcome to drop in and participate.

Wine label contest deadline looming

The deadline for entries for the The New Dungeness Light Station Association and Wind Rose Cellars photo and art contest is Wednesday, Feb. 15. For entry information, visit http://newdungenesslighthouse.com/label-contest/.

The winning photograph will be featured on the label of the 2017 Wind Rose Cellars limited bottle release of Light Station Sauvignon Blanc for the benefit of the Light Station Association.

Tide master to speak

Jonathan White, author of “TIDES: The Science and Spirit of the Ocean” will speak and sign books in the Raymond Carver Room of the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., Port Angeles, at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24.

White is an expert mariner and marine conservationist who will take readers on a journey of discovery around the globe to witness the largest, fastest, scariest and most amazing tides in the world.

Kitsap Quilters set show

The Kitsap Quilters presents its 31st Annual Quilt Show, “Rhapsody in Blue,” from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 17-18. The quilt show is at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds, President’s Hall in Bremerton at 1200 Fairgrounds Road NW.

The event will feature over 200 quilts, members’ boutique, silent auction, demonstration, cafe and vendors from Washington and Oregon. Admission by donation of $5, children 10 and under free. See www. kitsapquilters.com.
