Jamestown tribe hosts Native Film Night
The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe hosts “Night of Shorts” starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Red Cedar Hall on the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Campus, 1033 Old Blyn Highway.
The event features a variety of short films from one to 30 minutes in length. Some are humorous, some are serious and all are indigenous. The event is free and open to the public. No reservations are required.

Buck Ellard music set at Sequim Grange
Buck Ellard will be performing for dancing and listening pleasure from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at the Sequim Prairie Grange Hall, 290 Macleay Road. Cost is $10 per person. Food is provided.
Students in spotlight at Fourth Friday Readings
Sequim High School students Harley Davidson and Claire Nakagawara are the featured writers at the next Fourth Friday Readings in Sequim, set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at The Lodge, 660 Evergreen Farm Way.
The evening also features five-minute open mic readings: bring poems, short-stories or memoir/novel snippets.

Fiddlers break in new home at Shipley Center
On Saturday, Jan. 14, the Washington Old Time Fiddler Association gather at their new location: Shipley Center, 921 E. Hammond St., Sequim.
Jamming begins at 9:30 a.m.; the public is welcome to come and listen, or to become a member and play in the jam circle. A fiddle workshop is from 9:30-11 a.m. and a meeting for association members is at 11 a.m. A performance by association members is from 1:30-3 p.m. The performance is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome.
The association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and perpetuating the tradition of old-time fiddle music and associated arts. See www.d15.wotfa.org.
Rivers takes stage at Monday Musicale
Monday Musicale meets in the Queen of Angels Fellowship Hall, 209 W. 11th St., Port Angeles, from noon-1:30 p.m. with entertainment at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15. The program is Michael Rivers singing and playing guitar, including songs from his son David Rivers’ newly released CD named “Psalms.” They will be available for purchase. Election exhibit set
Local artists present recent pieces of art to protest the Presidential election in November 2016 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Sequim Library meeting room, 630 N. Sequim Ave. The exhibit is sponsored by Artist Protest, a local group. Pieces contain adult political content.
Adventure book is topic
