Life: It’s wonderful

for Reader’s Theatre+

Reader’s Theatre Plus announces its second annual presentation of a staged reading of Frank Capra’s "It’s a Wonderful Life." The performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, and 2 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Old Dungeness Schoolhouse, 2781 Towne Road in Sequim.

The play also will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, at the Port Angeles Playhouse, 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.

There is a suggested $10 donation at the door. Proceeds will benefit Sew Much Comfort, a nationwide nonprofit organization dedicated to sewing adaptive clothing for wounded soldiers so they can live a more comfortably. The clothing is provided at no cost to the soldiers.

Cast members are Pat Owens, Peggy Kempf, Rob Sommers, Barb Frederick, Ron Graham, Erica Van Calcar, Lee Harwell and Ric Munhall.

Small works of art

Sequim Arts announces its first Small Works Show hosted by the Museum and Arts Center. All of the work in this show is 8 inches by 10 inches or smaller and for sale. A portion of the proceeds from this show will be shared by Sequim Arts and the Museum and Arts Center to help fund their many projects.

Sequim Arts will hold its artists’ reception from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4.

The show may be viewed from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday through Dec. 23, at the Museum and Arts Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St., Sequim.

Art Is a Gift

Art Is a Gift returns on Dec. 5 to the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd. It will be open through Jan. 3. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday.

The exhibition offers artwork from dozens of artists from the Olympic Peninsula and beyond, filling the center’s Webster House with original arts and crafts suited to gift-giving needs and all budgets.

There will be a special Friends of the Fine Arts Center preview and first chance shopping from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4. Friends memberships are available at the door, beginning at $35 for an annual membership. Shopping for the general public begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5.
