Zaniac part of summer reading program

As part of its annual summer reading program for young people, the North Olympic Library System welcomes back Alex “The Zaniac” Zerbe for two performances this summer. The first show is set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., followed by an encore performance at 2 p.m. at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St. Among other tricks, Zerbe juggles bowling balls and flaming torches, and slices vegetables in half with a flying playing card. Martial arts at libraries

Learn basic marital arts moves and watch an exciting live demonstration from Phoenix Dragon Martial Arts Studio during the annual summer reading program for young people at the North Olympic Library System. Local demonstrations are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., and at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9 at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.

It’s wet at the library

Don your flippers and goggles for a water-themed storytime led by guest readers from the William Shore Memorial Pool at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St. Participants ages 3-5 will enjoy stories and rhymes, and learn water safety tips during this fun and active storytime, part of the annual summer reading program.
