Morning Camp

The summer ended with a bang at the Boys &Girls Club last week with several fun projects about the ocean and a Magical Mystery Tour field trip to end the week.

The week’s activities included making jellyfish, sea anemone and a homemade wave-in-a-bottle. The morning campers also made homemade butter, which they used to make buttered crackers for a snack.

The week ended with a Magical Mystery Tour field trip to Chetzemoka Park in Port Townsend. The morning campers had no idea where they were going and were totally surprised and excited to get the chance to do some beach-combing. It was a wonderful way to end the summer.

Junior Rangers

The Junior Rangers program ended with a trip to Lake Crescent for a barbecue and kayaking.

It was an amazing summer with trips to several of our beautiful parks on the Olympic Peninsula. The kids truly enjoyed interacting with the park rangers, who did a remarkable job teaching our Junior Rangers about the wildlife in our area.

Thanks goes out to rangers Teresa, Ben, Molly and Callie for the giving our kids an incredible insight into our beautiful national park and to Ranger Dean Butterworth for bringing this amazing program to us. The kids received a patch and certificate for completing the program.

Teen Room

The teens concluded their summer with a trip to Lake Crescent and the final trip to Laurel Lanes for their weekly bowling competition.

The teens played water volleyball and took a trek out to Third Rock to use the rope swing.

The highlight of the bowling trip was Peter Silliman bowling a 207, the best game of his bowling career and the best score of the summer.

The teens spent a lot of time outside due to the Teen Revitalization Project being done by the Sunshine Rotary Club.
