Crowds boogie to Five Acre benefit

The second Five Acre School barn dance filled the Cedarfield barn on Kitchen-Dick Road with day birds and night owls.

Strings-only bluegrass and rock band Deadwood Revival played two sessions for dancing crowds that totaled more than 550 people.

The dances, a benefit for student scholarships and school equipment, raised more than $14,000 from ticket, food and silent auction sales.

Organizers said they hope to do it again next year.
