Boulter to speak at Fourth Friday readings

Renowned writer Mary-Alice Boulter is the featured speaker at the next Fourth Friday Readings, scheduled for 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 28 in the media room at The Lodge, 660 Evergreen Farm Way.

Boulter is the author of prose and poetry that has appeared in many publications, including “Viet Nam Magazine,” “Timberline,” “Black Rock and Sage,” “Fandango,” two different anthologies (“The Simple Touch of Fate” and “The Mystery of Fate”), a shared poetry chapbook with Maine poet Anne Mullin (“Two Friends Blend from Blue Scarab Press”) and her second-place-winning adult prose and poetry in “Tidepools.”

A mother and grandmother, she has an eclectic theatre background in both performance and costuming, has traveled to many places, and once lived in Japan. She and her husband live in an 1898 Port Angeles Victorian once owned by Raymond Carver and Tess Gallagher.

Following the featured speaker is an hour of 5-minute open mic readings. Interested writers may submit their names before the event begins.

Participants are urged to rehearse in advance, as readings are timed.
