Boy choir to perform in PA

The Cincinnati Boychoir will perform choral music at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Lopez Ave., Port Angeles. The suggested donation is $15.

Sit back and enjoy the sounds of one of America’s most prominent boy choirs. From Bach and Mozart to traditional and uplifting gospel and spirituals, the choir will take you on a musical journey around the world.

The Cincinnati Boychoir is one of the premiere professional boy choirs in the United States, maintaining a world-class performance level and the highest quality music education. Located in the urban arts core of Cincinnati at the Aronoff Center for the Arts, the choir reaches approximately 300 young men each year from more than 100 schools in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

Since 1965, the Cincinnati Boychoir has been dedicated to the musical, intellectual and emotional development of these young men; boys attend weekly rehearsals, retreats, music theory classes and the annual SongFest Summer Music Camp for Boys at Xavier University.

Each year, the choir presents about 30 annual performances in the Greater Cincinnati region and has performed concerts and completed residencies both at home and abroad; most recently, the choir has appeared on stages in the United Kingdom and the east coast of Australia.

The Cincinnati Boychoir will be in Port Angeles as part of its 2017 concert tour of the Pacific Northwest. See cincinnatiboychoir.org.
