Chrisman finishes medical school, begins residency

Joshua Chrisman, a 2002 Sequim High School graduate, recently finished medical school at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas in Austin.

Chrisman, 36, graduated on May 21 and began his three-year residency in internal medicine and anesthesiology at Loma Linda University in California on July 1.

After high school, Chrisman enlisted in the Army National Guard and was assigned to a Hazmat Containment team for biological and nuclear waste.

He graduated from Western Washington University in 2006 specializing in Outdoor Recreational Administration.

Chrisman worked with at-risk youths in Utah in the Second Nature program, coupling wilderness experience with clinical counseling to help teens and young adults regain control of their lives from addictions and other issues.

From 2014-15, he attended the University of Washington for his pre-med studies.

Chrisman is the son of Al and Karen Chrisman of Sequim.
