City Band salutes autumn

The Sequim City Band will salute autumn — as well as music written in the 21st century — at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Sequim High School auditorium, 533 N. Sequim Ave.

The beautiful classic “Autumn Leaves” will be joined by the 21st century “October” by Eric Whitacre and “Yosemite Autumn” by Mark Camphouse. These are both lush, well-composed concert band pieces that will delight the audience. “The Symphonic Suite From Star Trek” and “Pixar Movie Magic” will give you a taste of movie music from the current century. Additional pieces include a bit of John Philip Sousa, a modern arrangement of “America the Beautiful” and “The Florentiner March” by Julius Fucik.
