Clallam County Genealogical Society hosts open house, beginners class

Further research into your family history or learn how to get started with the help of some local experts this month.

The Genealogical Society of Clallam County is offering two beginning genealogy classes in late August — one in Port Angeles and one in Sequim.

The society hosts an open house from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at the research center at 402 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles. During this time the “I know nothing about genealogy” class is from 1:30-3 p.m. All are invited to come and look at the facility, enjoy some food, do research or attend the class.

The society’s beginners class is set for a 10 a.m. start on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the Old Dungeness School House, 2781 Towne Road, Sequim.

Learn how to find the missing pieces (and persons) in your family history.

To register for the classes and for more information, call 360-417-5000 between 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday-Friday.
