Clallam genealogical group to host Canadian speaker

The Clallam County Genealogical Society will start the New Year with a presentation by David Obee, an internationally-known Canadian researcher, writer and speaker.

Check out the presentation starting at 10 am. on Saturday, Jan. 8, online via Zoom or at the genealogical society’s research center at 403 E. Eighth St., Port Angeles (masks are required). There is no fee to view/attend.

Obee has worked as a journalist since 1972 and his column appears in the Internet Genealogy magazine. He has written more than a dozen books and given more than 600 presentations at conferences and seminars in Canada, the United States and Australia since 1997.

The title of his presentation will be “Between Friends/Entre Amis: Cousins Across the Border.” This talk gives some examples of cross-border ties, along with advice on how to search in another county.
