Clallam Mosaic artists get spotlight at Art in Library exhibit

Along with artists Tim Roos and Bonnie Clark, 26 artists from Clallam Mosaic — a local nonprofit with 20 years of supporting people with developmental disabilities — will be featured at the new Art in the Library exhibit at the Port Angeles Main Library, April 27-July 24.

The opening reception for this exhibit is set for 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27. The community is invited to meet the artists, see the exhibit, enjoy refreshments and stay for the library’s quarterly Art Blast! event featuring live music from Seattle-based septet En Canto at 7 p.m.

Participants from three Clallam Mosaic art classes will be displaying both individual and collaborative pieces in many forms and mediums of art, from woven textile baskets and paper maché sculptures, to abstract watercolor paintings and unique mixed-media self-portraits.

En Canto is a multi-ethnic, female-led seven-piece band creating a world pop sound, as they describe themselves, by combining “forró, samba, and choro-inspired originals and re-imagined covers of classic Brazilian hits.” Dancing is encouraged.

Limited library services will be available during this after-hours event.

Art Blast! is supported by the Port Angeles Friends of the Library. For more information about the event, call 360-417-8500 or email Discover@nols.org.
