Clallam Mosaic hosts third “Tour of Italy” dinner and auction

Clallam Mosaic will host “Tour of Italy,” its third-annual gala fundraiser, on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Masonic Temple, 622 S. Lincoln St., Port Angeles.

The evening will kick off at 4 p.m. with a beer and wine social hour and auction item viewing. Auction and raffle items donated by local businesses and individuals include: a Makah mask; four tires from Wilder Auto; a signed Seahawks helmet; two tickets for Monday Night Football, the Seahawks vs. the Eagles on Dec. 3; a Kona Hawaii seven-day vacation; a Mazatlan Mexico seven-day vacation; five one-year memberships to the Boys & Girls Club; a Wheelbarrow of Beer, and much more.

Beyond the auctions, a giving tree will provide opportunities for supporting a class, a client, or donating art materials (brushes, colored pencils, sketch pads, markers and more), and other supplies.

At 5 p.m., dinner will begin. With catering by the Port Angeles Red Lion Hotel, guests will enjoy fresh mixed green salads with a choice of dressing, artisan rolls, spaghetti Bolognese, fettuccine Alfredo con pollo (with chicken) or penne primavera (vegetarian). Assorted desserts and other culinary delights will be available.

Clallam Mosaic-labeled wine produced by Olympic Cellars will be available by the glass, the bottle and the case. Lemberger is a medium bodied red wine with vibrant notes of marionberry and blueberry, created from grapes sourced from Champoux Vineyard from the Columbia Valley. The vintners suggest pairing this wine with salmon and tomato-based dishes.

Board of Directors President Randy Brackett, Program Coordinator Tresa Stuber and Parent 2 Parent Coordinator Shawnda Hicks will introduce members of the board, members of the staff and a video presentation featuring many of the participants.

“From its humble beginning of our Annual Spaghetti Dinner held at Sunland Golf Course, our gala has grown into a vibrant evening raising crucial funds to make the work we do possible,” Stuber said. “And it allows us to celebrate the amazing community created by and around Mosaic.”

At 6:30 p.m. the live auction will begin with local Master of Ceremonies, Charlie Ferris. Music and dancing round out the evening.

Among the many volunteers helping during the gala are members of the youth group from Eastern Hills Community Church.

As Clallam Mosaic volunteers enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities through lifelong learning, cultural activities and community engagement, funds raised from this event go toward supporting day programs and network activities for families and caregivers.

Tickets are $50 in advance, $55 at the door, include dinner and one drink, and are available through the Common Grounds Cafe, 525 E. Eighth St., Port Angeles, 360-504-2165, and through Clallam Mosaic at 360-681-8642, 360-797-3602 or info@clallammosaic.org.
