Clallam Transit honors employees

The annual safety awards and recognition ceremony for Clallam Transit System employees was recently held at the Red Lion in Port Angeles. This event highlighted the exceptional performance of Clallam Transit System employees and their ongoing commitment of safety and service to the public for the year 2018.

Acting Operations Manager Mike Oliver recognized Operations Department employees for safe driving through 2018: Anita Campbell, 24 years; Steve Waugaman, 12 years; Josh Goakey and Kim Myhres, 8 years; Paul Cousineau, 7 years; Duane Benedict, Ed Stanard, Jack Meyer Jr. and Tom Spradlin, 6 years; Danny Smith and Howard Werner, 5 years; Gordon Bowechop, Don Trautman, Frank Ruiz and Jim Goff, 4 years; Dana Snyder, Frank Carr, Jamie Elmore, Jeff Dixon, Michael Mazzei and Shane Goin, 3 years; Al Gustafson, Ann Rider, Bob Bryant, Brad Norberg, Danielle Smith, David White, Gary Lazore, Jeff Kingsley, Jeremy Gustafson, Josie Mullins, Rick Shewey, Ron Goldhammer, Treven Cullen and Warren Loushin, 2 years; Caleb Roberts, David DeBoer, Kim Hutcheson, Linda Howard, Marcas Witt, Pete Sekac, Todd Blevins and Tom Martin III, 1 year.

The following Operations employees also were recognized for their perfect attendance during 2018: Al Gustafson, Brad Norberg, Ed Stanard, Jason McNickle, Jeremy Gustafson, Scott Gossard, Steve Hopkins, Steve Thanem, Steve Waugaman, Danny Smith, Robert Lee, Shane Goin and Warren Loushin.

Oliver, who also serves as the Maintenance Manager, awarded the following Maintenance Department employees for completing 2018 with no preventable accidents or occupational injuries: Mac Johnson, August Hammer, Jesse Clark, James Vaughan, Doug Lorentzen, Eric Caynak, Brett McCallister, Terry Donovan, Casey Rudd, Marilyn Aldrich, Gary Abrams and Leo Hansen.

Oliver also commended the following Maintenance Department employees for perfect attendance during 2018: Doug Lorentzen, Jesse Clark, Marilyn Aldrich, Eric Caynak, August Hammer and Leo Hansen.

Clallam Transit System Employees’ Association member Terri Hill announced that Transit Operator Frank Carr had been selected as the recipient of the 2018 “Cliff Pavlak Memorial Recognition Award.”

General manager Kevin Gallacci announced the selection of Fixed-route Transit Operator Don Trautman, as the recipient of the 2018 “Employee of the Year.” As the winner of this award, Trautman will be honored as a member of the Hall of Fame, sponsored by the Washington State Department of Transportation, at the Washington State Public Transportation Conference in August.
