In Sequim, it isn’t all about the lavender in July.

During the celebrated Sequim Lavender Weekend comes the Puffin Sunset Marine Cruise, a two-hour tour of Protection Island aboard the 55-passenger, 65-foot Glacier Spirit.

Cruises leave Sequim’s John Wayne Marina at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 21, and Saturday, July 22.

The event includes a narrated program on marine bird life and marine mammals found between John Wayne Marina and the Protection Island National Wildlife Refuge. Expect to see tufted puffins, rhinoceros auklets and other sea birds. Dessert is included. Wine will be available for purchase.

Cost is $75 per person; proceeds benefit the education programs of the Dungeness River Audubon Center and Railroad Bridge Park. See www.DungenessRiverCenter.org.
