The Port Townsend Marine Science Center invites Olympic Peninsula residents to cruise the waters of Protection Island Aquatic Reserve, surrounding Protection Island National Wildlife Refuge, on Sunday, Nov. 24, 1-4 p.m.
Naturalist Roger Risley will be on board to assist in wildlife spotting and interpretation, accompanied by science center hosts.
Cost is $60 for members of Port Townsend Marine Science Center, Audubon Society, the Burke Museum or the Washington Ornithological Society, and $80 for non-members.

Designated in 2010, Protection Island Aquatic Reserve secures 23,778 acres of state-owned waters around Protection Island.
The aquatic reserve, along with the island, encloses an ecosystem that boasts abundant and diverse marine life and seabirds, including the largest known breeding population of rhinoceros auklets in the world, the largest nesting colony of glaucous-winged gulls in Washington, plus pigeon guillemots and tufted puffins.
