Would you like to have your design be a part of the 116th Sequim Irrigation Festival?

Submissions are being accepted for the 2011 Sequim Irrigation Festival logo design. The theme for the 2011 festival is "One Hundred and Sweet Sixteen."

Water turned Sequim into one sweet place to live and play, with majestic mountains, fertile farmland, abundant wildlife, friendly people, fresh fruits and vegetables and much more. All of these are connected in some way with the flowing of the water in area rivers, streams and irrigation ditches that gives sweet fresh air and a wonderfully sweet way of life.

A carousel concept combined with the sweetness of life will convey the 2011 theme for all events, marketing media and products. Visualize yourself riding a carousel where you can take in all the sweetness that surrounds you: the vibrant blue sky and the golden sun shining on the greens of the farms, meadows and forest.

Logo design contest entries will be accepted from artists of any age in Clallam or Jefferson County. The selected design will be used for the collectible festival lapel pins, posters, programs, advertising, festival events, T-shirts and more.

Full rules, prizes and additional concept information are at www.IrrigationFestival.com, Making of the Festival: Design Contest. Entries must be postmarked by Aug. 27. Submit to Irrigation Festival Logo Contest, P.O. Box 3201, Sequim, WA 98382. Call 477-3750 for questions.

There also will be a contest among elementary students (first-fifth grades) to design the festival button beginning in October.
