Elks name February Student of the Month

Sequim Elks have named Sequim High School sophomore Kassandra Montero their Student of the Month for February.

Montero is the daughter of Margarita Ruiz and William Lee. The family moved to Sequim eight years ago from Connecticut.

Montero carries a 3.9 GPA. Her present courses are Spanish II, honors algebra II, chemistry, AP seminar, AP world history and AP Studio Art, which is her favorite subject. Her interests include volleyball, music, art, history and pop culture.

She is a member of the high school volleyball team. Her favorite things to do are to paint with her friends and watch movies with her family.

Montero plans to graduate from a four-year university with a degree in teaching and start her own baking business.
