Accordion social set

The Sequim Accordion Social will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, July 9, at the Sequim Shipley Center, 921 E. Hammond St. A $2-$3 admission is requested at the door to pay for room rental. The featured player will be Eileen Webber from Spokane. All accordion players should bring their accordion to share a selection or two, and accordion lovers are invited to attend. ‘Cleaner’ novel up for discussion at library

“The Cleaner of Chartres” by Salley Vickers will be discussed at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave. Copies of “The Cleaner of Chartres” are available in various formats including regular print and downloadable audio e-books; they can be requested online by visiting the library catalog at www.nols.org.

Second ‘STORY SLAM’ at OTA in July

Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave., and The Story People of Clallam County are collaborating to bring to Sequim a second “STORY SLAM” themed “Second Thoughts” from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 13. The tellers will be selected at random by pulling names from a hat. There will be 10 stories told during the evening, each no longer than five minutes, and they must respond to the theme of the evening, this one being “Second Thoughts.” The stories also must be personal to the teller, true and told without reading or notes.
