Entertainment — BirdFest-BirdQuest contest returns

BirdFest-BirdQuest, a fun free game and a Sequim Merchants Group event, sponsored by Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce, will take place in 20 of Sequim’s businesses to promote the Olympic BirdFest in early April.

Find bird sculptures created by Jake Reichner’s Sequim High School ceramics class, and match them to the business in which you find them.

Game cards will be available at each of the participating merchants.

The grand prize is a “birds-eye view of Sequim” plane ride to Port Townsend and back with Emily Westcott, plus one year’s membership to the Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society.

From April 1-8, turn in game cards and People’s Choice nominations from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the chamber, 1192 E. Washington St. BirdFest-BirdQuest finishes at 4 p.m. April 8.

April 9 at 1 p.m. will be the drawing of the correct BirdFest-BirdQuest game card winner for the grand prize and the announcement of the top three People’s Choice winners for favorite bird sculpture, who will receive cash prizes. The winners will be announced at BirdFest Central at the Dungeness River Audubon Center, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road, Sequim. You need not be present to win.

For the remainder of April, the Sequim High School students’ ceramic bird sculptures will be on display at the Audubon center.
