‘Longest Night’ service set at Trinity United

A “Longest Night” worship service, scheduled on the longest night of the year, is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.

Leading the service are Trinity Deacon Kathleen Charters, Mother ClayOla Gitane of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and Russ Britton, Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church pastor.

Subtitled “A Service of Light in the Midst of Darkness,” the event will provide some thoughts for people who may be experiencing grief or pain during the Christmas season. It will include readings, prayer and carols.

‘Silent Night’ in spotlight at candlelight service

Traditional carols — with a special focus on “Silent Night” — will be featured at a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.

The Trinity Singers and guest musicians will perform.

The service concludes with all invited to light candles as “Silent Night” is sung in German, with guitar accompaniment.
