Candlelight service set
“Festival of Lessons and Carols” is the theme of a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.
Scripture readings will tell the story, which will be enhanced by the singing of carols.
The service will close with the lighting of individual candles during the singing of “Silent Night.”
Catholic churches to host Advent, Christmas mass events
This year, the fourth Sunday of Advent falls on Christmas Eve, and Christmas falls on a Monday.
Local Catholic churches are hosting Fourth Sunday of Advent and Christmas Masses.
“Join us for one of each, as we celebrate together the Nativity of our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, Savior and King,” organizers said.
At St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church (121 E. Maple St., Sequim), Fourth Sunday of Advent is set for 4 p.m., and Christmas Masses at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, and 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 25.
At Queen of Angels Catholic Church (209 W. 11th St., Port Angeles), Fourth Sunday of Advent is set for 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24, with Christmas Masses set for 10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, and 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 25.
At St. Anne Catholic Church (511 Fifth Ave., Forks), Fourth Sunday of Advent is at 8:30 a.m. Sunday Dec. 24, with Christmas Masses at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, and 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 25.
At St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Mission (52 Pioneer St., Clallam Bay), Fourth Sunday of Advent is at 5 p.m. and Christmas Mass at 6 p.m., both on Sunday, Dec. 24.
