Darwin’s Dilemma’ to air on Darwin’s birthday

On Wednesday, Feb. 12, the 211th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth, Peninsula Evangelical Friends Church invites the community to explore the mystery of the “Cambrian Explosion,” at a free monthly Movie and a Meal in the Agnew Friends Hall, 1241 N. Barr Road.

A supper of homemade soups with bread or rolls and home-baked cookies will be served at 6 p.m. The movie will start as soon as people are served.

The film investigates a mystery that Darwin never solved. The prehistoric world of the Cambrian era is recreated with state-of-the-art animation, plus on-location filming from southern China, the Canadian Rockies, and Great Britain and interviews with numerous leading scientists.

“Everyone is welcome to come and watch the movie while we eat together,” social committee clerk Vicki Carlisle said. “We’ll be done by 8 p.m. for a family-friendly evening.”
