OUUF hosts guest speakers

At 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15, newspaper journalist Jim Casey presents “Blood in the Water, Revisiting the Everett Massacre” at Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1033 N. Barr Road, Agnew. In his message, Casey will address the issue of freedom of speech, referencing members of the Industrial Workers of the World confronting Everett’s shingle mill owners, the timber barons of the day, in a series of face-offs that climaxed in a battle on the city’s waterfront in 1916.

From 12:30-2 p.m. the same day, OUUF hosts Alan Weiner as he talks about how his career as an electrical engineer make him a practical explorer in the search for the transcendental answers to the life challenges people face. Weiner, who is the author of two books and is a licensed hypnotherapist, will share his “experiences of pain, joy, suffering, playfulness and bliss, illusion and the ego’s attachment to stuff.”
