Spring blooms with bright flowers and hopeful spirits as April’s First Friday Art Walk Sequim bursts with the theme color of pink.
Find works of art and folks supporting the option to dress in all shades of pink from strong burgundy to soft blush for the evening out on the town.
First Friday Art Walk Sequim is a free, self-guided tour of local art venues in Sequim on the First Friday of every month from 5-8 p.m. Visit online at www.sequim
artwalk.com to print a map, special events, links and how you can be part of art. Its mission is to create approachable and accessible art and cultural venues that encourage the community to connect and celebrate expression and diversity.

Special events
• The Olympic Peninsula BirdFest occurs April 10-12 in Sequim and there are several corresponding events happening in collaboration on the Art Walk to celebrate feathered friends including the start of the BirdFest/BirdQuest and Eagle Eye Game at various businesses around town. • Sequim Museum & Arts’ exhibit is “Birds, Bees & Bugs” featuring a variety of local artists and rarely seen, unusual bugs from the Cowan Collection at 175 W. Cedar St.
• Olympic Theatre Arts presents “Steel Magnolias” at 414 N. Sequim Ave., at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, April 3-19.
• Olympic Theatre Arts Children’s Theatre will showcase vignettes rehearsed over the spring break workshop session. Thirteen children will perform monologues and scene pieces. Performances will begin at 5:30 p.m.

• Colors of Sequim, 139 W. Washington St., with music by Victor Reventlow and artwork by Shari Ojankangas-Hansen.
• R&T Crystals and Beads, 158 E. Bell St., jewelry demonstrations from Paulette Hill and Gail McLain.
• Lavish Day Spa, 115 N. Sequim Ave., showcases Marissa Byrd’s works.
• Sequim’s Sunshine Café, 145 W. Washington St., Tim Quinn’s art.
• Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St., featured artists Carol Janda, veteran painter, potter and teacher, and Janine Hegy, dynamic sculptor, working with wood, stone and metal, in a new exhibit: Arts Shine Through April Showers.
• Gallery on the Walls, 128 E. Washington St., showcases Sally Cays and Patricia Taynton inside Sequim Vision Center.
• Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St., wine tasting from 5-9 p.m.
• Rainshadow Roasting Co., 157 W. Cedar St., local artists and gourmet coffee from 5-8 p.m.
• Gallery at the Fifth, 500 W. Hendrickson Road, watercolors by Jim Gift; meet the artist from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, April 12.
